We had a scare recently when three of the puppies were bitten by a poisonous snake and had to be rushed to see the vet. The volunteers on enclosure patrol had noticed the three puppies faces were swollen and immediately reported it to the N/a'an Ku Se coordinators, who sprang into action. Luckily the puppies had been spotted in time and all three are now fit and healthy again.
Kaleb and Liska, the adult wild dogs, were introduced into the puppies' enclosure in the hope that they would get along and they could help look after and teach the young puppies. Unfortunately one of the female puppies was hurt slightly when the adults were introduced so Kaleb and Liska had to be removed and returned to their separate enclosure. Although the injured puppy still has a slightly sore leg it does not slow her down and she is still the alpha in the group and thoroughly enjoys the attention and respect of the other puppies.
